There are so many instances where I really wish I had my camera. I tell myself that it's okay because that just means I'm able to focus on enjoying what's going on instead of trying to get a perfect picture. Here are three recent things that have no photographic evidence attached to them.
On the last day of Spring Break, we headed to the children's museum. The museum has a fun arts and crafts room with a ton of supplies to create whatever you want. I say fun, but really I didn't know because the kids have never gone in there. But last week they did - and it IS fun! And Skyler and Jonah were so cute while creating their projects. Really what I needed was a video camera so I could record the descriptions of their masterpieces.
Earlier this week, I was feeding Oliver when someone knocked on the door. I left his bowl of nearly gone sweet potatoes in spot that I thought was out of his reach. When I came back, he had the bowl up to his face and was totally licking it clean.
Tonight I took the boys out to dinner. To keep Oliver happy, I handed him a pickle. I thought I'd need the camera to catch his face when he first put it in his mouth, but he didn't react negatively at all - he totally loved it! And did such a good job eating it too. Pickles are very nutritious, right?

10 Months Old
The little dude is now ten months old.
He has one tooth. It peeked through a few days after he turned nine months old. He loves pears and avocado. He's very ticklish. He can successfully get up on all fours, but then prefers to go back on his belly and roll over instead of crawl.
He hasn't been gaining weight like he should (in fact, he's been loosing weight), so this past month he had several blood tests done to try and determine why. He appears to be allergic to just about everything and his Celiac blood test came back positive. We'll know more about the allergies after our allergist appointment in two weeks and more about the Celiac at our gastroenterologist appointment in May - yes May, can you believe it takes that long to get in?
It's so hard to believe that he'll be one so soon. I love how he makes our family seem so complete.

Welcome to Crazy
Jonah and I often have the following conversation:
J - Tell me where we are going tomorrow
Me - I don't know
J - No, tell me!
Me - I don't know where we are going tomorrow
Sometimes I tell him we are going crazy. Tonight Skyler overheard that and told Jonah that Jonah doesn't know where crazy is. I asked Skyler where crazy is and he told me "we live at crazy".
Welcome to Crazy.

A Milkshake For Lunch
We ate lunch at Fuddrucker's the other day and Jonah really wanted a milkshake. He saw a picture on the menu and wanted it to look just like the picture - complete with a cherry on top. When we asked what he wanted for lunch, he got very frustrated and kept pointed to the picture of the milkshake and telling us that he wanted the "that with the red on it". We told him he had to have some food with it and he reluctantly agreed to have a hot dog.

A Blanket Tent Day
With Skyler still slightly under the weather and the actual weather not conducive to some of my other spring break plans it seemed like the perfect day to stay in pjs, not brush hair, and build tents and train tracks.

Two Pictures, Two Stories
I normally make Skyler's lunch for school the night before, but after the kids go to bed. One night I made it before they went to bed and it prompted Skyler to help Jonah make a lunch for himself. They loaded up a lunchbox with a juice box and a few boxes of ramen noodles. All morning the next day, Jonah carried around his lunchbox and asked me when he could eat it. Finally I gave him the okay (and replaced the ramen with a sandwich and added some yogurt) so he sat down and started to eat.
During a recent hike, we found several piles of snow and Jonah wanted to make snowballs each time we came across one. He was very determined to throw one at Skyler. He was walking behind Skyler and threw the snowball. He missed, but picked up the remaining smaller snowball and tried again. He missed several times before he finally hit Skyler in the back with a teeny tiny snowball that managed to go into Skyler's jacket. Skyler was not happy at all!

Nap Time
Jonah rarely falls asleep in his bed at nap time, so it's always fun to peek in on him and see if he's under the bed, in the closet, wearing a dress-up costume, or in this case balancing cars on his stomach.
And just in case you were wondering where he puts his cars down for their naps when they aren't sleeping on him
