Merry Christmas!

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas, we sure did!

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, two boys in matching jammies were stirring, and I hope there was no mouse.

Skyler got a baseball tee, it took him awhile to get excited about it, but he had lots of fun with it that afternoon in the backyard with Grandpa. Jonah was very thrilled with his thing that makes noise and lights up! Skyler has been quite confused for the past few weeks. He heard me tell my mom that he wanted Hungry, Hungry, Hippos for Christmas. Skyler's mind went to the only hippo related thing he knows, the hippo we have that "eats" the peek-a-blocks. So for the past week, when someone would ask Skyler what he wanted for Christmas he'd say "A hungry hippo, but I already have one". Poor, poor, impressionable little three year old! He wants whatever I tell him he wants! He got the game and loves it. We were so happy to have Grandma and Grandpa and Jared and Annie join us for Christmas!

Following in Daddy's Footsteps

Skyler went to his room for rest time and I told him he wasn't allowed to come out of his room until the long hand on the clock was pointing to the one. At quarter til the hour he came downstairs. I told him he needed to go back to his room because the long hand wasn't pointing to the one yet. He said it was. I told him no, it wasn't and went up to his room to show him. Well, it was. He had pulled the clock off the wall and adjusted the time so that the long hand was pointing to the one.

First Food

I've put it off long enough, my little baby is getting bigger. He didn't quite know what to do with it and most of it ended up on his face, but there was no screaming involved and in all fairness, really his first go at rice cereal was Tuesday night, but I wasn't there to witness it, so it doesn't count.

Here he is in his high chair:

Skyler's likes and dislikes

Skyler likes wrapping presents. He took some bubble wrap and wrapped up a pillow and put it with the other presents. Horrible things will happen to me should I undo this, I'm sure.

Skyler likes touching Jonah. It doesn't drive me nearly as bonkers as it used to. He's fairly gentle and Jonah is starting to be able to fend for himself.

Skyler likes singing and dancing. A lot.

Skyler likes going to the little library. This would be opposed to the storytime library, he's on a storytime strike it would appear.

Skyler likes playing computer games and he's getting so good at using the mouse on his own!

Skyler doesn't like whatever we're having for dinner. Doesn't matter what it is, he doesn't like it. Please no one tell him that corn is a vegetable.

Skyler doesn't like it when Jonah cries while he's trying to watch TV. "Jonah stop crying. I can't hear my show!" He yells at the top of his lungs.

Skyler doesn't like naps. Nothing new there, but while we were driving home from Arizona, we saw firsthand how hard he fights sleep.
