Pumpkins

We took a trip to the pumpkin "patch" (or the pumpkin lawn, really) on Wednesday. Skyler loved running around with the kids and playing in the hay and checking out the pumpkins. Here are some pictures.

I didn't think it possible

When it's time to put Jonah to bed, I take him upstairs, put him in his bed (swaddled, of course, because he's weird like that), and leave. He falls asleep. Amazing. It's only about a 50-50 chance it'll work in the day, but it most always works at night. He just..goes to sleep...on his own. I really didn't think it possible.

Hiking

Jonah and Toys

In the past few weeks, Jonah has just really started to enjoy playing with toys. He'll grab hold of them and shake them and suck on them and swat at things too. Skyler loves to sit down on the floor with him and give him toys to play with, yet is constantly taking away the toys from the toy bar on his bouncy seat. Here are some pictures of the boys playing.

Just a cute little sad face

Skyler at School

Here's a picture of Skyler at Joy School when it was at someone else's house.

And I had a picture of him when it was at our house, running around while the other kids were sitting at the table doing ABCs, but I can't seem to find it. Hmmmm.. looks like he's much better behaved when he's not at home. He is enjoying it a lot and sings the songs all the time and is always telling me to sit down here for my joy school, and then when I don't cooperate, he tells me I need to sit down so he can see my smiling face and listen when the teacher is talking.

Shots

Jonah got his four month shots yesterday. I wasn't expecting much in the way of adverse effects, because nothing happened after his two month shots and the only adverse effects I ever encountered after Skyler's shots was lots of sleeping, which really wasn't adverse at all and had me wanting to go back the next day so he could have more shots. Anyway, back to the topic at hand, Jonah has not been a happy camper. He was cranky all day yesterday and last night just wanted to be cuddled and was running a fever. It took some effort to get him to sleep, but he did sleep normally. Today he's just after more cuddles and looks rather pathetic as you can see in the picture.

Skyler Loves Mommy

I was getting Skyler dressed and his hair brushed after a bath and I asked him what his shirt said.
Skyler: It says "My Mommy Loves Me" but I don't know what that means.
Me: It means that you love me.
Skyler: I want you to have a love shirt. It can say "My Skyler Loves Me" because I love you, but can you stop brushing my hair so much?

Finding Cats

Fist off, I know I have a handful of readers who aren't memebers of my church, and I do throw in some Mormon terminology from time to time, this post especially, but I hope you can still find some humor in it.

One of Skyler's favorite things to do is "play" songs on the piano while Jordan and I sing. He flips through the Children's Songbook, stops at a song (sometimes he recognizes what it is by the picture, but mostly not) and asks us to sing. We sing whatever song it is because we usually know it while he pounds out notes on the piano. Tonight though he stoped at one we didn't know (It was How Dear to God are Little Children, or something close to that). We asked him what the song was, Skyler responds, Teach me to find my cat. I think he was confusing it with Teach me to Walk in the Light. we told him we didn't know that one.

This "Why" Thing is Getting Out of Hand

Skyler: What are you doing?
Me: Getting you a drink.
Skyler: Why?
Me: Because you asked me to.
Skyler: Why?

You tell me dude.

Cooking

On Monday night we all made muffins.
Even Jonah got an apron.
