- At his two month check-up he weighed in at 10 lbs. 2 oz. and measured 22.5 inches
- He loves to be held and talked to.
- He's starting to like to look at things, such as the bear mobile that hangs above the pack n play and the myriad of toys that his brothers put in front of him.
- He sleeps well at night, but during the day it's often hard to keep him asleep (this is where the swing has proven to come in handy).
- He still prefers to sleep swaddled.
- He's starting to look more like "himself" and less like his big brothers!

At Least I Tried
Before Oliver was born I made big brother and baby brother shirts for all the boys. Skyler loves his and will often try to get Jonah to wear his at the same time. Jonah tends to refuse, so one day when they both were wearing them, I put Oliver's on him and tried to get a picture.
Jonah and Oliver were in position but then Skyler ran around screaming. Jonah soon joined in. At least I tried.
We'll start things off with the cooperative one.

Five Years Old
It was just a fluke that I had purchased five gifts for Skyler, but since I did, I thought it would be fun to wrap them individually and number them.
This gift is an I Spy book. I think he likes it.
Skyler loves to learn. He adores his little brothers. He's a wonderful helper (when he wants to be, that is), He loves saying silly things and making people laugh. He likes to be around people and he likes telling them what to do (one day when he gets that trait in check, he'll make a fabulous leader). I've always been anxious for Skyler to be older so that maybe he'd actually be fun (I've since then learned to appreciate the little ones, so Jonah and Oliver can stay little, thank you very much!). Now that he's five, I'm excited to do some big kid things with him - like kindergarten!

Happy Birthday Skyler
Skyler turned five on the fifteenth of this month. We did a mini golf birthday party for him, starting out with a round of golf and ending up at a nearby park for pizza and cake.
And hey, guess what? My camera's battery died at the park. But that's when it comes in handy to not only have a photographer friend, but also to invite her son to your child's birthday parties. :) So, here are some pictures that she took that I stole from her blog, where you should all go and see more pictures from the party. This one is tiny, but I think that is my punishment for stealing it from her blog.
His party was on a Saturday and then his actual birthday was the following Wednesday, could things possibly be any more confusing? He really didn't understand that concept. In fact, on Tuesday when I asked him what tomorrow was he told me he didn't know. Anyway, on his actual birthday, we went to the local children's museum and then that night went to dinner with grandpa and grandma (who stopped by on their way back home from a work trip).

Summertime Adventures
Here's a little recap of some of the things we've been up to this summer.
We went to see Jim Cosgrove (aka Mr. Stinky Feet) perform at the library. He has a song called none other than Stinky Feet and Jonah often goes around saying "stinky feet, PU" just like the song goes.
Rocking in the band
Posing with Jim (and his daughter and our friends)
Jordan took the boys miniature golfing (or goofy golfing, as I know it to be). Skyler really needs to work on his technique and Jonah, well Jonah needs to work on the rules. He'd pick the ball up and take it over to a spot very near the hole and then hit it in from there. Skyler really enjoyed the whole experience and chose it as the activity for his birthday party.
We've gone to the Aquarium/Botanic Gardens a few times. One trip was specifically to check out the trains. Jonah didn't want to leave. Another time it was to check out the new shark and ray exhibit where you can touch the animals. Skyler was excited about the prospect of a "grand opening" (we had just read a Curious George book where there was a new exhibit at the zoo) and was quite underwhelmed. He did, however, like reaching in to touch the rays. He said they were slimy. Jonah wouldn't reach in, he said they scared him.
We spent the 4th of July with Jordan's parents. They had a 4th of July breakfast at their house and we did a lot of swimming. Skyler was swimming all around the pool with floaties, which was great for him because as a result he had lots of practice kicking, which he doesn't do much of when swimming with us, and is a good step in the right direction when it comes to swimming on his own. And I have no pictures from the weekend (I forgot the camera). But sometimes it's nice to just enjoy the moment and not worry about picture taking!
One Saturday we took a drive up to the top of the Sandia Mountains for some hiking and to enjoy the view.

More Hiccups!
Five years ago, when Skyler was a new baby, he had the hiccups and Jordan and I felt very compelled to video tape it.
Two years ago, when Jonah was a new baby, he also had the hiccups. Jonah did not get the hiccups often, so it was a pretty cool fluke that he was wearing the same outfit Skyler had been wearing during his hiccup video. Of course, I took more video.
Oliver is quite a hiccup-y baby, so getting footage of him wearing the hiccup outfit wasn't too difficult. I was surprised though that he was in the bassinet (like the other two) when I took the video as he's rarely in there these days. I totally didn't plan that aspect!
And, because you know you want to see the other hiccup videos - here they are!

In the Last Ten Hours
In the middle of the night, Jonah rolled out of his bed. He immediately cried out "Skyler!" Was he calling out for help or just assuming that since he was hurt, Skyler must have had something to do with it? I'm voting the latter.
Skyler wanted Jonah to play King of the Castle with him. How does one play King of the Castle? Easy, according to Skyler you "listen to the king!".
