Thanksgiving - Goofy Golf and the Zoo

So sorry for the lack of new posts recently. We were out of town for the last week and before that I was just being lazy. I hope my many posts right now will make up for it.

We spent Thanksgiving in Tucson with Jordan's sister and her family. We had such a great time. The food was wonderful and Skyler loved playing with his cousins. We were also able to go up to Tempe to be at my nieces' blessing. It was fun to see everyone there and play their video games. :)

Here are some pictures from Tucson, we went miniature golfing (goofy golfing, as my dad calls it) and to the Zoo. At the zoo, we got a picture of Skyler by the giraffes to compare with the picture we took last time we visited this zoo!

Everyone checking out the otters (it's really not quite as cold as the jackets make it look ;))

Golfing, Skyler Style

Notice his little celebration after getting it in the hole.

Backwards Boy

Skyler likes to dress himself and as a result almost always puts his clothes on backwards. That button is a lot harder to button when the pants are backwards. :)

Jonah's Five Month Old

Some of the cool things Jonah has discovered now that he's five months old are his feet, which he thinks are great fun, and how to scream in a very loud and high pitched manner, which mommy doesn't think is great fun.

My Little Gamer

I got this Gameboy three years ago for my birthday. It's a great way to pass time while nursing. But Skyler has somewhat taken it over. It's so cute to watch, he's not really good at it by any means, but he thinks its the funniest thing when Mario dies and yells out "Mama Mia". When he first discovered this, he got all excited and told me he needed to show me "Vatavia". He turned the game on, started it, and promptly ran off a cliff, then started laughing hysterically when he heard the line.

Skyler and the Benefits of Sleep

Skyler and I were sitting down to play computer games when Jonah started crying. I stood up to hold him and told Skyler he'd have to wait because I needed to help Jonah be happy.

Skyler: Put him to bed, that will make us happy.
Me: But I need to make Jonah happy, will that make him happy?
Skyler: Yes, when he wakes up he'll be happy, but don't get him when he cries, just when he wakes up, then he'll be happy.

Ah yes, Skyler, because you're really one to know about how sleep can affect ones happiness.

All Dressed Up

Jordan was trying to get Skyler to pose. I love his look for church today!

Jordan trying to tickle him so we can get a good smile

At least he's trained to do something

Skyler called out from the bathroom for a new pair of underwear. I asked him if they were wet and he told me, no he had pooped, but took the poop out of his underwear and put it in the toilet. I picked up the underwear and it was wet. Why is your underwear wet, I asked him, he says it's because he cleaned them in the sink. At least he deals with it on his own.

Happy Fall! Or What Have I Started?

Skyler is fascinated with the falling leaves. On Monday we went for a walk to collect leaves, despite the fact that they aren't quite yet falling in our neighborhood. Then we made a leaf picture out of them. Then we did it all again on Tuesday. I think this will happen many many more times in the next few weeks.

Happy Halloween!

Skyler set this next one up. You can't really tell, but behind each chair is a pumpkin and Skyler insisted his chair go right in front of the big pumpkin and Jonah's go right in front of the little pumpkin.

Halloween Rewind

Or Halloween recycling, you decide. Skyler wanted to be Blue again this year all on his own, no persuasion from me, granted I didn't try too hard to persuade him to be anything else, but that's besides the point. Adding about six inches to the bottom of the costume was easier and cheaper than buying or making a new one.

Joy School Party

There was a little Halloween Party at Joy School on Tuesday. They had a costume parade and sang a song about a witch for the moms.
