Cute Things
October 09, 2006

The other day I asked Skyler why he was miserable ( a common occurrence these days) and he said, "I'm cranky"

Today while out driving, Skyler fell asleep in the car. Jordan took a speed bump a little too fast and in his sleep Skyler said, "whoa".

This Week

This week was a trying one for Skyler in the world of using the toilet. He went about a week and a half with no accidents, or at least very few. But this week every time I turned around he was peeing on the floor. But today I'm happy to report, when we put his pajamas on him at night, we took off the same pair of underwear that we put on him in the morning! So hopefully we are near the end of this set back.

This week we went to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. On Wednesday morning we woke up early for the mass ascension (so Skyler was very very cranky all day). It was so awesome though. Skyler was afraid of the loud noises the burner made when we got to close, but other than that he really liked it too. Then Friday night we went back for the glow. Skyler got to see his first fireworks show and it was so neat to watch it through his eyes.

On Friday at the library Skyler saw two other kids. The girl was a little younger than Skyler, I'm guessing and the boy was about 4. Skyler kept yelling to them, "kids, come on!". They were busy reading books with their mom. Then when they were at the shelf looking at books, he went right up to them and said it again. I feel bad that my social little boy has such an unsocial mother.

Some Random Things
October 25, 2006

Sunday morning Skyler was acting weird and I asked him what was wrong. He said, "I'm freaking out".

Skyler wants absolutely nothing to do with Jordan most of the time. He won't even let him pour him a drink.

One of Skyler's new favorite things to do is take the couch cushions off and jump and climb on them.

Skyler is afraid of the vacuum again. He notified me when I tried to vacuum the other day.

Naps are still hit or miss, but he's napping now, hooray! He's been so very unpleasant to be around, he's clearly not getting enough sleep, but I can't figure out how to get that sleep in.

Skyler will be Blue (As in Blue's Clues) for Halloween. We went to get the fabric the other day (since after much searching for light blue colored clothing, I just decided to make it) and every now and then he asks for his costume on, meaning he wants me to drape the fabric around him.

It used to be incredibly annoying to live on the second floor. It still is, but slightly less so since Skyler is now very insistent that I carry him (or "Mommy hold you" as he says it). It sometimes means two trips down or up the stairs, but that's still a lot faster than the snail's pace he would always take the stairs at (and I know he can do stairs faster).
